This guy can't get enough of our CityCaucus podcast!
CityCaucus.com is taking another step today by piloting a new online feature called CityCaucus Cast, our own podcast recording. And (for now) it's commercial free! Depending on your feedback, we may decide to make it a regular feature starting in 2011.
In the pilot phase we decided to pay a visit to our lavish studios on the 26th floor of CityCaucus Tower and recorded a series of short podcasts that will be aired between now and the end of December. CityCaucus Casts will cover a wide range of topics but will initially focus on three key areas:
- The top stories of 2010 - What was hot? What not?
- The impact of social media on local politics and urban affairs
- 2011: What lies ahead for civic politicians in Metro Vancouver
Here is the first CityCaucus Cast for your listening pleasure (mp3 clip):
Since our launch back in 2008, we've regularly incorporated both audio and video clips into our posts. Not only does this "rich media" add a new dimension to the discussion, it helps to provide you with an insight into what the MSM is reporting when it comes to urban affairs.
Our mix of opinion, commentary and breaking news has clearly caught the attention of various media outlets across Canada as well. Our CityCaucus.com team has made regular appearances throughout the year on CKNW, CBC & Shore 104.3 FM, as well Mike maintains a weekly column for 24 Hours newspaper. This is in addition to many other media outlets such as GlobalTV and CTV BC that come to us for our perspective on the issues of the day. It's been a tremendous amount of fun which has translated into over 4,000,000 page views as of this week.
Both Mike and I enjoyed recording CityCaucus Cast, and hope that it gives our audience a bit more insight into civic politics in Vancouver, and beyond. We'd really like to hear from you regarding what you think of both the broadcasts and concept of CityCaucus Cast.
If you have topic areas you'd like us to explore further with an upcoming podcast, be sure to drop us a line at CityCaucus@gmail.com. We'll do our best to incorporate your suggestions into a future recording session.
So sit back, relax and enjoy our fireside chat with both Mike and I over the holidays. Our next edition of CityCaucus Cast will be posted later this week.
