She's one of Vancouver's popular bloggers and now Miss 604 (Rebecca Bollwitt) has told CityCaucus.com that Robson Square is one destination she plans to spend time at during the upcoming Olympic Games. As part of our ongoing series, we're asking well-known media and social media types in Vancouver to let us know which of the Where 2 Be for Free venues they plan to visit in the coming weeks. Here are Rebecca's top picks...
Robson Square "Without a doubt my readers and I are most excited (and are most likely to enjoy) the free ice skating at GE Plaza," says Bollwitt. "With an outdoor rink, daily concerts, proximity to BC's pavilion in the VAG, and of course the free zipline crossing overhead, it'll be a great place to take part in an activity and enjoy yourself as the mad crowds rush above on Robson."
LiveCityYaletown "It may not have as many live bands or big name bands as Whistler, Richmond, or Surrey but it is also the home of some of the Olympic sponsors such as Samsung as well as being the City of Vancouver's own hub during the Games," comments Rebecca. "It has a great location as lots will be happening in Yaletown, you're near the Canada Line, and Casa Italia is just over at the Roundhouse."
Surrey's Celebration Site "Easy to get to by SkyTrain and featuring probably the highest number of bands, acts, and entertainment on two stages. They'll also be showing Olympic coverage on big screens and will be going strong Wednesdays - Sundays during the Games."
Check back here tomorrow to find out where our next media personality plans to go during the Games.
