On a visit to the popular Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion, you can see and touch the medals
One of the surprise smash hits of the 2010 free pavilions has been the Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion, located on Granville Street (& Pender). If you're a coin collector, love precious metals, or just the sound of cold hard cash, this is the place for you. Even more exciting for crowds is the ability to view – up-close – the beautifully engineered 2010 Olympic medals. When CityCaucus.com visited, we had the chance to have a quick demonstration from one of the people responsible for laser etching the medals themselves. He describes the features of a gold medal in the video above.
