You're taking holidays, so we are too

CityCaucus CFO Pamela Jackersly is taking time off this summer to spend time with the kids

The hundreds of staff at have been working tirelessly since we first launched last December amidst the whole Snowmagedon fiasco. They've been putting in countless paid (and updaid) overtime to bring you your daily dose of municipal news. Since our launch, we've received a lot of feedback from readers like you:

"The best urban affairs blog in Canada, bar none"

"I read the New York Times, then it's CityCaucus...sorry guys, you're number 2"

"Your blog is addictive, I can't wait for my morning email"

With August fast approaching, and every city council in Canada about to take a break, we thought it was time to give our staff a break too. They deserve it! And provincial labour legislation tells us we need to give staff time off in lieu of overtime pay.

Since our launch, we have experienced well over a quarter of a million page views as well as attracted tens of thousands of regular and drop in visitors to our blog. To sum it up, our success has been a bit overwhelming and we're going to use the month of August to catch our breath and get ready for the busy fall period as we lead up to our 1st Anniversary celebration. As a result, don't be surprised if the amount of posts we have in the coming weeks lightens up a bit in advance of our September re-awakening.

Once again, a big THANK YOU to the tens of thousands of you who have taken the time to read our blog, post comments and challenge the perspective of our contributors.

Before all the Mayor's office political staffers pop the champagne corks, rest assured if there is "breaking news" in August, we'll be there to post it.

But in the meantime, kick back, rest, and enjoy what is shaping up to be a beautiful summer (at least on the West Coast).

Check out!
