Just another bit of city business for Burnaby Council?

Another FOI has come in from the City of Burnaby and CityCaucus.com readers may not be too pleased to learn the details of a recent trip to New Orleans by Mayor Derek Corrigan and a City Council colleague.

The delegation included Corrigan, Councillor Nick Volkow, Denis Nokony, Assistant Director, Cultural Services and Geraldine Parent, Arts Services Manager. In addition, three employees from Tourism Burnaby were also there, but the costs of their travel was not provided to us by the City. The total cost of the trip for Burnaby's four delegates was $8,122.07 including airfare. This includes $1446 dollars in per diems paid to the four City of Burnaby participants.

We reported here earlier that Mayor Corrigan was heading down to the Big Easy in order to partake in the New Orleans Blues Festival. The goal was of the six-person delegation was to learn from local officials on how to put on a great party, N'awlins style!

We not only FOI'd the cost of the trip, but we also asked for a complete itinerary to see how many meetings and officials the delegation was meeting with during their trip. The following is a summary of their itinerary for the three days:
