Vancouver, B.C. (January 29, 2009): The CityCaucus International Group of companies putting plans for the impressive CityCaucus Dubai project on indefinite hold due to the global economic recession. The iconic CityCaucus Dubai Tower set the architectural world on fire when the initial designs were released to the public. "In terms of sustainability we still had a way to go, but, boy, we couldn't wait to ride the elevators in this puppy," says spokesperson Daniel Fontaine.

Originally conceived as a centre for trade and urban development learning, CityCaucs Dubai was a three-way partnership between the Emirate, CityCaucus Group and an unnamed third party. Global financing pressures are affecting a host of large and medium scale developments in all jurisdictions.

"Perhaps our biggest disappointment is for the people we promised to bring on board to plan and build CityCaucus Dubai. We had dozens of the best and brightest currently working for the City of Vancouver and other Metro Vancouver cities in planning and engineering ready to come to Dubai for ten times their normal salary. It's our loss, and I suppose Vancouver's gain," remarks Fontaine.

There are currently no timelines for restarting the CityCaucus Dubai.
