The Vancouver Sun reports that Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon is set to announce he is taking the next step in improving bus and rapid transit services in Metro Vancouver.

If you recall, Falcon announced a while back that the Province was going to undertake a multi-billion dollar transit expansion program aimed at reducing greenhouse gases and reducing traffic congestion. Two of the main components of that plan included the completion of the Millennium Line skytrain from VCC-Clark to UBC, and Expo Line expansion into Surrey. You can be that these will be very popular with local voters.

You can expect there will likely be an announcement regarding increased bus service in cities like Richmond.

As a daily Skytrain and bus user myself, these projects can be moved ahead fast enough! Bring it on.
